  • Every time Yeshua or an Angel appeared unto people and the person became afraid, Yeshua or the Angel would tell them to not be afraid and comfort their fears. So if an Angel or something appears to you and you are afraid and the spirit does not immediately try to comfort you, it is NOT of God.

  • Commentary

The above was some basic facts that must be understood about Demons. Remember, Yeshua is Lord and No Evil Spirit can defeat Him.

Don’t let demons be your one and only focus, always keep your eyes and heart on Yeshua our Lord and Savior. However, I know from personal experience how hard it is to get your mind off of Demons when you are being attacked by them every night without a rest. They are a real threat and must be confronted. If you don’t confront them, they will continue to work in your life unchallenged.

Yeshua gave us the power and authority to use His name to defeat them. Many do not believe that a believer can have a Demon, but there is no scripture that says this.
It's our job to drive them out by the power and authority of Yeshua’s name and the blood He shed for us.
The Holy Spirit guides and empowers us to do the driving out.

Our body is a temple to the Holy Spirit. Before Yeshua died for our sins and became the final and perfect sacrifice, priests would have to perform blood sacrifices for our sins.
These rituals were performed in a physical temple. The first temple was Moses’ Tabernacle, the second was called Solomon’s Temple.
Both had three main sections; moving from the outside to the center: the outer court, inner court, and Holy of Holies.
The Holy of Holies was where the Ark of the Covenant was kept and where the Spirit of God dwelled. It was separated from the rest of the temple by a veil (curtain).
Our bodies can be compared to the Temple. After we accept Yeshua, we become the Temple of God.

    2 Kings 21

Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hephzibah. And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, after the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel. For he built up again the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal, and made a grove, as did Ahab king of Israel; and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them. And he built altars in the house of the LORD, of which the LORD said, In Jerusalem will I put my name. And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD. And he made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger. And he set a graven image of the grove that he had made in the house, of which the LORD said to David, and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:

Here we see that even though idols (Evil) were inside of the Temple of God, the Spirit of God was still in the Holy of Holies. God was angered by these evil things in His house and he destroyed the king for it, but he never left His house.

So how do you get rid of demons? The most important thing is to be Born Again.

    Mark 16:17

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils...

    You must believe first...

Keep in mind, there is no absolute chronological order that things must be done it in order to work.
Remember to be led by the Spirit. There have been times that the Holy Spirit has spoken to me, telling me to do things that didn’t make any sense but the results were immediate. Obedience to the Holy Spirit is far more important than suggested steps for removing an evil spirit.
However, also keep in mind that the Holy Spirit will never tell you to do something that violates scripture.
If the Holy Spirit tells you something like to put up a dream catcher to get rid of nightmares it is NOT the Holy Spirit, but a Demon trying to deceive you.
Things that the Holy Spirit might tell you to do could be something like: pray, fast, read the bible, read the bible out loud in the house, lift up your hands and speak a blessing over the house, play worship music, etc.

Always begin with Prayer and seek the Lord’s counsel. Ask Him for guidance, strength, protection, and His peace to surround you. Demons always try to frighten you to quit, they know you have power in the name of Yeshua.
Ask the Father to send His Holy Angels to stay with you and protect you and your family. Pray for a blessing on all of your House. (Including your pets)

HAVE FAITH! Believe that God will do what His Word says He will.

NEVER GIVE UP. Demons are intelligent beings; they will rebel and try to stay after being commanded to leave. Typically, they resist and think if they hold out long enough you will quit and leave in failure.
Yeshua has given you authority to use His name and power; act like it. You have the authority to talk directly to God in the Name of Yeshua. You have the same Spirit that raised Him from the dead living inside of you. When an evil spirit attacks you, he’s also attacking God. They will quickly think twice before they attack again if you begin to use your authority and power in Christ.
Even though you have God on your side and He will protect you; that doesn’t mean He will do it for you. God expects you to use the power and authority He gave you. You must take the step of faith to believe God and use your authority. Command the Demon or Demons to leave in the Name of Yeshua. Although they must leave doesn’t mean they will immediately.

So, I told them to leave, but they won’t... Now what?

The most common reason is if you have unconfessed sin. Sin can prevents God’s blessings and hinders the Holy Spirit. When you pray, confess any un-confessed sins and get right with God first. Ask him to forgive and cleanse you of any and all forgotten sins as well.
Another reason could be a lack of faith. If you doubt God the entire time you are praying and commanding the spirit to leave, your prayers and commands are weak.

    Hebrews 11:6

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Another reason the Demon could be staying is if there is some kind of cultic item it has a right to.
Examples of this could be: statues, demonic posters, evil music, clothes and jewelry with evil pictures or symbols, etc. If this is the case remove and if possible, destroy the item immediately.

The final and most difficult reason is a personal one. Some Demons for are more powerful than others. They require Prayer and Fasting along with the power of Yeshua Name to cast them out.

    Matthew 17: 18-21

And Yeshua rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour. Then came the disciples to Yeshua apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? And Yeshua said unto them,

Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

When faced with a demon of this power, pray to God and ask if this is the reason for the difficulty defeating the demon. Depending on the circumstances it may be necessary to hit the pause button; Fast and Pray for a few days, then return and drive the demon out of the building or person. Yeshua lived a Fasting lifestyle so you could say He was always ready to encounter a spirit like this.

It's not a formula, ask the Holy Spirit for guidance.

Demons can also cause nightmares and demonic visions. These events strike fear and torment into the individual causing sleepless nights, anxiety, etc. God will never make you afraid, only Demons do that. If you have nightmares frequently, you need to pray to God for protection and deliverance of these attacks. Then command the evil spirit to leave in the Name of Yeshua.
