Word Review: REPENT

One of the first words Yeshua spoke when He began His teaching was REPENT.

Matthew 4:17

...Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

NOTES

  • Strong's G 3340 - metanoeō to change one's mind, i.e. to repent
  • Word Review: BELIEVE

    John 3:14-21

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

    NOTES

  • Word Review: FAITH

    Hebrews 10:38-39

Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

    Hebrews 11:6

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

    NOTES

  • Strong's G 4102 - pistis Conviction (of God's truth) Assurance
  • The Sinner's Prayer

Below is an example prayer that is commonly referred to as "The Sinner's Prayer".

    "Father God,

I confess I am a sinner; I know there is nothing I can do to earn your forgiveness. I believe in your Son Yeshua. I believe that you sent Him to the earth as a man to die on the cross as a payment for my sins. I believe, three days after He died, you raised Him back to life. I believe that Yeshua is the Lord.

Lord Yeshua, I ask to cleanse me from all sin and unrighteousness and I ask you to come into my heart, I make you my Lord and my Saviour."

If you prayed this prayer and said it from the heart, then you are now what is called Born Again. The Holy Spirit which is the spirt of God now lives inside of you. Your body has now become the Temple of God.

    I prayed it.... Now what?

My personal recommendation to you is to get a Bible, and read it every day. You may not understand everything you read; but even if you don't, it will still help you. When you read the Bible, it strengthens your Spirit and later in life when you need guidance, the Holy Spirit will bring scripture to your remembrance. You may not remember where the scriptures are in the Bible, but you will feel a guidance coming from the Spirit.

Another thing you need to do, out of obedience to the Lord is Water Baptism. Please see the page on Water Baptism for more information.

    John 14:26

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance...

    NOTES:

  • But if you don't read the scriptures you will not have anything for the Holy Spirit to remind you of.
